Apple Cider

Warm, comforting and you can even add a kick of rum!

Ingredients

  • Half-gallon all natural apple cider

  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, cut into tablespoons

  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground clover

  • 1/8 teaspoon ground salt

  • Rum

  • Cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  1. Bring the apple cider to a simmer over medium heat in a large pot, then turn the heat down to low. Stir in the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt. Continue stirring until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved.

  2. Ladle the buttered cider into mugs. Top each drink off with a shot of rum and garnish with a cinnamon stick, if desired. Serve hot.






Pear Mimosa

Ingredients

  • 3/4 pear nectar

  • 1 bottle champagne

  • Pear slices, for garnish

Directions

  1. Add pear nectar and top off with champagne

  2. Garnish with pear slices.




Dark and Stormy

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of dark rum

  • 5 ounces ginger beer

  • Lime wedge

Directions

Pour the rum over ice in highball and fill with ginger beer. Squeeze in the lime wedge.





As temperatures drop…hot chocolate bar is everything!!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/2 cup hot water

  • 20 ounces chopped semi-sweet chocolate

  • 10 cups whole milk

  • 2 1/2 cups heavy cream

  • 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk(not fat free)

  • 1/2 cup sugar (optional)

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • Toppings: marshmallows, mini chocolate chips, sprinkles, crushed cookies, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, caramel sauce





Classic Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 medium hello onion - diced

  • 1 pound 90% lean ground beef

  • 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cumin

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper (optional)

  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth

  • 1 (15 oz.) can petite diced tomatoes

  • 1 (16 oz.) can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Add the olive oil to a large soup pot and place it over medium-high heat for two minutes. Add the onion. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. Add the ground beef to the pot. Break it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook for 6-7 minutes, until the beef is browned, stirring occasionally.

  3. Add the chili powder, cumin, sugar, tomato paste, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and optional cayenne. Stir until well combined.

  4. Add the broth, diced tomatoes (with their juice), drained beans, and tomato sauce. Stir well.

  5. Bring the liquid to a low boil. Then, reduce the heat (low to medium-low) to gently simmer the chili, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. Remove the pot from the heat. Let the chili rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

S’more Bar

S’mores are everyones favorite activity. But making a fire to roast the marshmallows can sometimes become a chore. Sometimes we just want a quick s’mores without having to build a fire.

Supplies

  • Granite bowl or you can use a planter box.

  • Pea gravel or some type of decorative rocks

  • Sterno canned heat

  • Wooden skewers




Chocolate-Peanut Butter Acorns

A perfect project for the kids! Creating these chocolate nuts couldn’t be easier

Ingredients

  • Store-bought or homemade chocolate frosting

  • Nutter Butter Bites

  • Hersey Kisses

Instructions

Unwrap a Hershey's Kiss, and use chocolate frosting to adhere candy to one side of a Nutter Butter Bite. Place a few spoonfuls of frosting in a ziplock bag, and use scissors to snip off one corner. Pipe a dab of frosting onto the center of the other side of the cookie, and place a mini chocolate chip over the frosting to create the acorn's stem. Repeat to make as many acorns as you'd like.

Fill a hurricane vase with popcorn kernels and add dried fruit on the sides for a simple yet beautiful look. you can even add a raffia for a finishing touch if you like.
